Project specifications.

The brief required a refined, unobtrusive shading solution for an outdoor dining area within a heritage property. It was essential that the design respect the traditional architecture while providing practical sun protection.

design solution

We installed hand-drawn, dual-fabric Alfresko Roman Cable Shades. The tensioned stainless steel cables were chemically anchored into the existing sandstone retaining wall, enabling a clean “floating” fabric effect. When retracted, the awnings are concealed neatly under the verandah eave.

Project Outcome.

The result is an elegant, lightweight shading system that blends seamlessly with the home's heritage details. The black and white striped, solution-dyed acrylic fabric delivers both European sophistication and functional sun control, enriching the outdoor dining experience.
